Yvonne was born at her paternal grandparents' home in Leith, North Dakota on May 31st, 1935. Her grandfather, William Kamrath, was a longtime North Dakota state senator before retiring to help care for his wife, Nellie (Emch) Kamrath. Here is a link to their obituaries.
Yvonne died on May 3rd, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. Here is Yvonne's obituary. Her grandson, Anthony Koecke, made this tribute video to honor her memory. You can find my recollections of her through the tag "remembering mom" on Goldwing Tom dot com.
She met Wayne Koecke while working as a secretary at Oregon State College. It was 1953, and Wayne was back from Korea where he served as a tank driver. He had enrolled in dairy husbandry. This link will take you to the search page for the tag "remembering dad."
